Windows Vista

 

Go to the START button and click on Control Panel.

In Control Panel find Internet Options and double click on it.

(If you cannot find Internet Options, you will see the screen below. On the left hand side, click on Classic View)

 In Control Panel find Internet Options and double click on it.

 On the keyboard, press the backspace key, that will blank out the starting Home Page address. Then, I want you to type in www.prairie.ca. Now click on the settings button

On this Box, please type in 1000 in the white box bellow. Click okay.

Click on apply at the bottom right of the screen. At the top of the window, click on CONNECTIONS.

In the white box, do you have any entries in there or is it blank? If you have entries here you are not using,we can remove them. Select the first one and then click on the Remove button. You will be asked 'Are sure to want to delete this, select Yes. Do this with each of the entries until the box is blank. You may be prompted by a window saying Windows Requires Your Permission click the Continue button. Is the white box blank now? Good. Now click on the Setup button. This will start up the New Connection Wizard.


                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

In the window that comes up, Click once on Dial-up

On this screen, type in the Dial-up phone number. Next, type in your username in small letters, no spaces. Type in the password you were given. Again, make sure it is in small letters and no spaces. Under the password, double check there is a checkmark beside Remember this password .In the connection name field, enter in Prairie Online. Here you can have a capital P, small r and so on. Put a space between Prairie and Online.

After you have typed this information, click Connect

On this screen click Skip

You will be told the Internet test was unsucessful. That's ok. It does not mean your connection will not work. Just click Setup the connection anyway

On this screen simply click Close

Okay, that takes care of setting up the Internet access.
